Today is Maundy Thursday. Maundy is from the Latin word "mandatum," meaning "commandment." It refers to Jesus' statement in the upper room: "A new commandment I give to you: that you love one another." To express that love there will be a light soup supper at church at 6 pm, followed by an informal time of worship at 7 pm in which we will remember Jesus through a time of foot washing and the Lord's Supper.
